The Short Version

We will NEVER, EVER, EVER sell your personal data. Your privacy matters. We collect only what's necessary to provide the service, and we keep it safe.

What We Collect

We collect the minimum amount of information needed to provide LaterVault:

  • Account info: Email, username, and password (hashed)
  • Bookmarks: URLs, titles, descriptions, and tags you save
  • OAuth data: If you sign in with GitHub, Google, or X, we receive your email and basic profile info from those services
  • Usage data: We use Google Analytics to understand how the service is used (page views, general usage patterns). This data is aggregated and not tied to your personal bookmarks.

What We DON'T Do

  • Sell your data: Never. Not ever. Not to anyone.
  • Share with advertisers: Nope.
  • Track you across the web: We don't follow you around.
  • Read your bookmarks for profit: Your bookmarks are your business.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide and improve LaterVault:

  • Storing and displaying your bookmarks
  • Authenticating your account
  • Sending important service notifications (if enabled)
  • Improving the service based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns

Data Retention

When you delete your account, we retain your data for up to 6 months for backup and recovery purposes. After that period, all your data is permanently deleted from our systems.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data:

  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms
  • All connections use HTTPS encryption
  • Database access is restricted and monitored

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

  • Access: You can view all your data in your account
  • Delete: You can delete your account and all associated data from your settings

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. Google Analytics also uses cookies to collect usage data. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics: For understanding usage patterns (Google's Privacy Policy)
  • OAuth providers: GitHub, Google, and X for login — each has their own privacy policy

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
